Last season didn't go to plan if you were an Ipswich Fan. A league 1 tour has turned into a holiday with fans now eager to not turn the holiday into a staycation the way the Championship ended up being.
If you have been following my transfer series this is part two of our realistic targets for next season.

Today it is the turn of 'realistic centre defenders' the Tractor Boys could try and target. Most fans will agree that the club needs a stand out performer at the Heart of defence.
Luke Woolfenden will be a star, there isn't a doubt about it, but if Lambert looks to operate with a back 3 next season then will Nsiala, Wilson, and Chambers be enough to occupy the other two spots?
So our pursuit to leave no stone unturned coupled with stats from who scored . Com and transfer market .com ; here are three realistic centre defenders Town could bring in next season:
1- Sean Raggett
Upfront Cost: Free
Ex Norwich City defender Sean Raggett is a 6'5 Centre back that, after a recent loan spell with League 1 rivals Portsmouth, will be looking for a new club having been released by parent club Norwich City after spending three years with the Norfolk club and making 2 appearances.
Raggett made 28 appearances last season while on loan at Pompey recording;
70% Tackles won
69% Headers won
67% pass completion rate
A commanding centre half that is only 26, Sean Raggett should be seen as the number 1 on any list the club's recruitment team put together when looking at defenders.
2- Harry Souttar
Upfront Cost: LOAN
Remember the giant centre back that won everything Holy kicked at him last season?
This is said man! Harry Souttar, then on loan at Fleetwood from Stoke City, may well find his way back out on loan again.
The 21-year-old still has multiple years to run on his Stoke deal and the Potters may well view him as an ideal candidate to compete for a starting role having seen their side concede 68 goals last term. Only 5 teams conceded more.
Last season, the Australian International Souttar was in fine form for Joey Barton's Fleetwood.
The defender made 42 appearances recording
74% Tackles won
71% Headers won
68% pass completion rate
A realistic loan prospect, a back three of Woolfenden, Chambers and Souttar would certainly be something to be excited about.
3- Matthew Pennington
Upfront cost: LOAN
A familiar name to Ipswich Town fans. Matthew Pennington spent the 2018/19 season on loan with Ipswich and made 30 appearances. While the season may have ended with the Blues finishing rock bottom, Pennington did win plaudits from fans for his no-nonsense committed defending.
Now entering the last year of his Everton contract, the defender may well be on the radar of Town boss Paul Lambert
He has to be mentioned...
Upfront cost: Free
While this would prove a controversial signing, Richard Keogh quite simply has to be mentioned.
He is the right age, price and has Town links having spent time with Ipswich back in the early 2000s as a trainee before moving on to Stoke.
You may remember the ex Derby captain was involved in the infamous car crash which saw him suffer a knee injury ruling him out until November 2020.
He wouldn't be my choice but this is Ipswich.
