Lambert wants togetherness

"We are all in it together and we need to stick together if we are to be successful"

The words of manager Paul Lambert speaking to the club website.

The Blues returned to training yesterday and Manager Paul Lambert spoke about his desire to 'look forward', 'take positives' and 'learn from the negatives'

The 19/20 season didn't finish how Blues fans, coaches, and players wanted, however, hand on heart most fans would tell you the season was over by the time COVID-19 halted proceedings. So there will be plenty of negatives for the boss to learn from.

Defeats to Fleetwood and Coventry at home gave Lambert's side a mountain to climb in reaching the playoffs and most fans would tell you it probably wouldn't have happened.

Positives? While doom and gloom are easier to write about and easier to remember, there were of course some positives to take, especially in performances from Kane Vincent-Young and the partnership that Norwood and Jackson were starting to put together pre-injury.

I understand the motive behind the statement but words at this football club have come only to be backed up by a damp squib of a Summer all too often.

Actions will always speak louder than words, especially to the Ipswich Town fan base.
